Breaking Barriers through Telemedicine

On the remote Philippine island of Sacol, where no doctors are available, a woman in a yellow hijab finally receives online medical attention via mWell OnTheGo app, overcoming long standing healthcare access challenges. The DICT has provided internet, enabling telemedicine through mWell’s portable digital clinic along with Huawei's ICT tools, addressing the needs of around 14,000 residents. This forms part of Sacol Island’s transformation into a Smart Village, a joint effort of DICT and ITU.
